Michael is a fiber and power infrastructure professional with 25 years of industry intelligence gained through extensive experience in acquisitions, transactions, deployments, executive management, technical sales, marketing and infrastructure operations for enterprise customers and investors. Michael is responsible for identifying, acquiring, developing and managing technical real estate programs for a wide variety of verticals including private equity, large enterprise clients, government agencies, brownfield development, fiber network builds, transactional opportunities and large scale data center power sites. Michael has served as a senior advisor to the fortune 500 as well as startups such as Element Critical, Baidu Labs, PCCW, Zoox, Basic Solutions and other tech companies. Considered a seasoned veteran, Michael has bought and sold fiber networks, brokered technical real estate transactions and delivered customers to data centers selling well over 500 megawatts of business. Other key positions have included Director of Network Facilities for Level 3 Communications, VP of Business development for Kennedy-Wilson and VP of Site Acquisition for Wiline Networks.
Michael graduated UCLA and lives happily with his family in northern California.
Tom brings a career in real estate leadership together with his background as a management professional with deep operations experience. Previously in a CFO/COO/CCO role, Tom was responsible for all finance and operational related activities of Algert Coldiron Investors, an investment advisory firm. Prior to this, Tom managed his own consultancy practice - Esperance Realty & Financial Advisors. There, Tom provided transaction management services and financial analysis for complex real estate projects. Tom’s clients included The Gap, Morgan Stanley, Bayer, PeoplePC, the CAC Group, Einhorn Yaffee & Prescott, I-Impact, Regale and RM/RNA Properties. Prior to his work in the transaction advisory practice, Tom worked for Shorenstein as a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing a $1B portfolio. At Bank of America as Vice President, Division Manager he was responsible for Leasing, Acquisitions and Dispositions, Asset Management, Property Management and Construction of the California portfolio including the company’s HQ. At Marcus & Millichap, he was responsible for the company’s portfolio of office and apartment buildings.

Steppen comes to Mission Critical RE as a critical advisor in the development and deployment of major fiber networks with over 25 years experience in the telecom and data center space. Steppen’s vast knowledge combined with years of construction expertise in the deployment of major fiber routes are what makes him a go to person for your network infrastructure build out. His work experience with fortune 500 companies and SMB have makes him well versed in the Telecommunications world. Working side by side with companies like Google, Apple, and Facebook as well as data and network providers such as Equinix, Zayo, Verizon, ATT and Bandwidth IG, Steppen has proven that no job is to big. John’s resume working for some of the largest telecom providers span over 19 years, giving him the knowledge to design and deploy real world networks.
Chris is a senior level executive with extensive knowledge of network and IT. As a founder of GroupOne Consulting, Chris is hands on --------- Since 2006, Mr. Wiegman has been responsible for driving the company, setting its vision, and providing the leadership that has helped Group One become one of the leading Managed Service Providers in Northern California. He oversees all projects that come through the engineering department, and he guides staff in constructing best-practice solutions for our NGO and SMB Clients. Chris is also a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) holding both Enterprise Administrator and Server Administrator certifications. Chris also hold a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification for SQL Server Management and Administration, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Windows Server 2008 certifcation, and is a trusted corporate partner with several industry leaders including; Cisco, Dell, Microsoft, VMware, HP, Datto, Barracuda and many others.
